Acronis Cyber Cloud security improvement maintenance
  • Completed
    December 10, 2020 at 09:00:00
    Completed
    December 10, 2020 at 09:00:00

As of 10th of December 2020, Acronis will no longer support SSLv2.0, SSLv3.0 and TLS versions prior to TLSv1.2 in Acronis Cyber Cloud. All clients that are not able to negotiate a TLSv1.2 connection will be unable to access any Acronis Cyber Cloud services.

SSLv2.0, SSLv3.0 and TLS prior to TLSv1.2 are outdated protocols that do not support modern cryptographic algorithms, and also contain well-known security vulnerabilities that may be exploited by attackers. The Internet Engineering Task Force has already deprecated SSLv2.0 and SSLv3.0. There are also plans to officially deprecate both TLSv1.0 and TLSv1.1 protocols.

Our internal research has shown that the vast majority of Acronis Cyber Cloud traffic is now over TLSv1.2. As a result, we believe that the overall impact to our users will be minimal.

    Actions Needed:

    • All Acronis customers should update Acronis Backup Agents to the latest version in order to continue using Acronis Cyber Cloud Services.
    • Please note that all clients that are not able to negotiate a TLSv1.2 connection will be unable to access any Acronis Cyber Cloud services.
    • Other applications might require upgrade or additional configuration to support TLSv1.2. Contact Acronis support for an advise on TLSv1.2 compatibility.

Maintenance start: 10/12/2020 10:00 CET Maintenance end: 10/12/2020 10:30 CET Expected impact: There is no expected impact on Acronis Services during the activity.

After the recent wave of DDoS attacks we have received we have been planning an upgrade to our uplinks. Next week on 20 October 2020 at 22:00 CEST we will attach the new uplinks in parallel to the current uplinks. No traffic will be routed yet to the new uplinks.

If you have any questions regarding this ticket or experience any issues during this time feel free to contact our support by mailing to support@snel.com

Maintenance start: 20/10/2020 22:00 CEST Maintenance end: 20/10/2020 00:00 CEST Expected impact: If all goes as planned no services will be affected during this maintenance. In the unfortunate event that something unexpected happens our technical support team is standby.

Update 22:58 CEST We experienced connectivity issues towards our network due to the planned maintenance on our uplinks. Update 23:08 CEST Our network supplier reverted the configuration changes which they performed. Shortly after the revert, the connectivity issues on our network were resolved. Our network supplier is looking into this issue. We will update this ticket once we have new information. Update 00:25 CEST The error occurred due to a limit on the amount of ACL's and due to the fact that the configuration of the duplicated ACL's for the new uplinks were accepted during configuration phase but rejected during activation phase. We have worked around this issue by temporarily disabling the ACL's on the old uplinks and activating the new uplinks and then disabling the old uplinks. All traffic is currently flowing through our new updated uplinks and this maintenance is closed. Update 00:50 CEST Currently we are experiencing connectivity issues on IPv6 IP addresses Update 01:09 CEST Problems with IPv6 should be resolved

If you are still experiencing any issues do not hesitate to contact our support team by sending an email to support@snel.com.
