On the 9th of October SmartDC, the datacenter in which our servers are located, will perform a planned Back up power test. This will be a so-called 'black building test'.
Explanation:
A Black Building test is a test in which the full IT load will be passed on to the backup power installation. During this test, all UPS'es, generator and power switches on the main board will be tested for its correct operation. Nonpreferent electrical power, e.g. B-feed can drop during this test. It will take approximately 15 seconds to switch from grid power to backup power. Afterwards the generators will be live for another hour to test their performance.
This test will be conducted by trained and certified technical staff accompanied with our vendors.

Expected impact: If all goes as planned no services will be affected during this test. In the unfortunate event that something unexpected happens our technical support team is standby.
